![]() ![]() Pistols are one of the 2 types of secondary weapons of this game. So… Make sure you have a good marksman for fights. I have no idea how it boosts the critical chance to 100%. Just for the record, this is with 187 marksmanship, and 50% base critical chance after all equipped bonuses. The game doesn’t show it though, so you’ll have to check for yourself.Īs you can see, high enough marksmanship can overcome even full cover penalties. Marksmanship from 150 and above will mostly guarantee your shots land regardless of cover or even range penalties, as it will increase your accuracy beyond 100%. ![]() It also seems to influence your critical chance, although how much I cannot say. This means even a +10 bonus can be useful. Marksmanship is your accuracy stat in this game, and most of your gangsters have anywhere between 50 – 150 accuracy. MarksmanshipĪ lot of bonuses increase this stat, so this needs to be explained. Letting fights end by Bleed Outs does not increase the kill count. Only the killing blow is counted, so you can use whatever you want to take down the target’s health, just make sure the final shot is from the weapon type you want to rank up. Of course, proficiency is also separate for each individual character.Īn example of meeting the requirement for 50 sniper kills. They are independently counted for each weapon, so if you want to level up say a pistol when you haven’t used it before, you will need to get 10 kills with it, regardless of how many kills you have made with other weapons. The requirement for each rank increase is at 10, 25, 50, 75 and 100 kills respectively. You can increase that “rank” up to 5 times. Each time you hit the threshold, you will “rank up” in that weapon’s proficiency and unlock a new bonus. To gain proficiency, you will have to kill a certain number of other characters, be it thugs, the police or any other hired gangsters. The game tells you what they can or cannot equip in their stats menu.Įach weapon has a different niche and are effective at different ranges, so be wise when choosing which weapon you want to use.Ĭonsumable throwable items (e.g.: grenades, dynamite) do not count as weapons, and thus do not benefit from this system. Certain types of gangsters can only equip certain weapons. ![]() The more you use a weapon, the more proficient your gangsters will be at operating that weapon. There are 7 types of weapons in total that you can earn proficiency bonuses from, which are: You have probably learned most of these with the game’s tutorial or from experimenting yourself, but I’ll still reiterate them nonetheless.įirst let’s go over the list of weapons within the game. If you’ve ever played any XCOM games then you’ll also be familiar with this game’s combat system. I won’t explain how combat works as there is an in-game tutorial that explains it anyways, and that is also not the purpose of this guide. The game already explains most of the bonuses quite clearly but I will give a brief explanation of what each bonus does anyways, especially for the more confusing or vague ones. This guide is just here if you do not want to remember everything off the top of your head or you are just curious about what bonuses each weapon type provides and how they work. This guide will provide a full list of all the different weapons and proficiency bonuses that you can gain from your gangsters’ in the game. Sniper Rifle + Good Pistol + Double Tap + Pickpocket on Conmen, Sniper Rifles or regular Rifles on Doctors and Rifles or SMG on Demo.Types of Weapon and Bonuses Overview Introduction Machine Gun + Run & Gun on Hired Guns + Your Boss. Machine Guns are also probably like the only gun that can one shot a rival Gang Boss. SMGs are decent all around, but especially against armored enemies they don't do much damage, Sniper Rifles with armor piercing or Machine guns kill those enemies much better. The traits you unlock by getting kills with Shotguns are also pretty bad. Shotguns are just terrible all around, they have worse AoE than Sweep gives (Hired gun trait), they don't hit very hard and have bad range as well. ![]() Sniper Rifles and Rifles are both decent for long range options. It also shoots twice as many bullets as SMGs once you get enough kills with it and hits harder as well. Once you kill like 50 people with a Machine Gun it reduces it's AP cost to 1 instead of 2, but with Run + Gun on Hired Guns/Certain Bosses you can move as far as a sprint and then unload with it prior to unlocking that. ![]()
